This page explains what information we collect when you use eastsidehillec.com, how we use it, and how to ask us to remove a photo of you or your family.

What we collect
We collect only what you choose to send us:
- Form submissions. When you sign up for the newsletter, submit a concern, or use the contact form, we keep the name, email address, and message you provide so a board member can reply and so we can email you future updates if you opted in.
- Anonymous site analytics. We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool that records page views, referring sites, browser, and country. Umami does not use cookies and does not track you across other websites. The data is aggregated and cannot be tied back to you.
What we don't collect
- No third-party advertising trackers.
- No advertising or marketing cookies.
- No cross-site profiling.
- No selling, sharing, or renting of your information to anyone, ever.
How we use it
Information you send us is used for one thing: running the neighborhood association. That means:
- Replying to your message.
- Sending the newsletter to people who opted in.
- Routing a concern to the right board member or city contact.
- Understanding which pages people find useful so we can improve the site.
We do not use your information for advertising, fundraising lists outside the association, or anything you didn't ask for.
Photo release policy
The neighborhood photo gallery features images from block parties, cleanups, board meetings, and other public neighborhood events.
- Contributors. When you send us a photo for the gallery, you grant the association a non-exclusive license to publish it on eastsidehillec.com and in association newsletters. You keep the copyright.
- Subjects. If you or a member of your household appears in a gallery photo and you'd like it taken down — for any reason, no explanation needed — email board@eastsidehillec.com with the subject line "Photo takedown request" and a link or short description of the photo. We will remove it within 7 days.
- Children. Photos that prominently feature a minor are removed on request from a parent or guardian, no questions asked.
- Events. We post signage at neighborhood events when a board member will be taking photos for the website. If you'd rather not be photographed, let the photographer know and they'll work around you.
